Areas we cover

Our Embassy represents the United Kingdom's interests in Tajikistan. We are working to build and develop contacts between our two countries in a wide range of fields, ranging from economic development to counter-narcotics.

Mr Tervor Moore, the British Ambassador, is in charge of the Embassy. The Embassy has about 50 staff, five of whom come from Britain.

Our Consular Section provides services for British citizens in Tajikistan.

The Political Section works to promote political links between the government of the United Kingdom and Tajikistan at the same time as encouraging good governance within Tajikistan's multi-party system.

The Projects Section selects and supports projects, which are relevant to the Embassy's objectives, focussing on areas such as strengthening democracy and civil society, good governance, human rights, freedom of the press and counter-narcotics.

The Press and Public Affairs Section informs people in Tajikistan about Britain and the work of the British Embassy. It works closely with the British Council in Tashkent on educational and cultural issues.

The Management staff is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Embassy.
