Career history

Trevor Charles Moore was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone on 19 January 1958. He was educated at St Peter’s School, York and Manchester University where he graduated in American and Soviet Studies.

He entered the Diplomatic Service in 1980. His first posting was as 3rd Secretary (Political) at the British Embassy in Belgrade. He then served as

1987–1989 Washington, 2nd Secretary (Politico-Military)
1989-1991 FCO, Desk Officer, UN Disarmament, Arms Control and Disarmament Department  
1991-1994 FCO, Head of Russia technical assistance “Know How Fund” Programme
1994-1997 FCO, Head of Great Lakes Section, Africa Department (Eastern)
1997-2001 Vienna, 1st Secretary (Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty)
2001-2004 FCO, Deputy Head, Latin America and Caribbean Department
2004-2007 FCO, Deputy Head, Counter-Proliferation Department
2007-2008 FCO, Deputy Head, Human Rights, Democracy and Governance Group

He is married to Diane, who works at the Financial Services Authority in London and has three sons, Andrew, Alexander and Matthew.
