As the representative of the British Government, the Ambassador, promotes British interests in relations with the Tajik Government. There are a range of sections at the Embassy responsible for facilitating the bilateral relationship between UK and Tajikistan.

The Political Section is responsible for political relations between the two countries. Tajikistan and the United Kingdom work together in areas such as the United Nations, democracy, human rights, press freedom, climate change, anti-corruption and other governance issues.

The Press and Public Affairs Section is responsible for promoting British Government policies in Tajikistan and for media relations between the two countries. 

The Project Section manages the Bilateral Programme Budget for support to small projects in Tajikistan that are relevant to the Embassy’s objectives.

The Management Section is responsible for all personnel, financial and administrative services and resources and provides support to all other sections.

Consular Section is responsible for British passport and nationality enquiries and the consular protection of British citizens in Tajikistan.

Visa Section provides a restricted visa service for Tajiks and others wish to travel to the UK and who have a regular history of travel to the UK in compliance with the British Government Immigration Rules.

Other partners

The Department for International Development (DFID) is the part of the UK Government that manages Britain's aid to developing countries, including Tajikistan, and works to get rid of extreme poverty.
